Our shellac nails should remain shiny and chip-free for 14-to-21 days, if you take care of them responsibly. Don’t worry about your day to day activities: taking out keys, working on the computer and (light) cooking are no match for the combination of traditional nail polish and gel polish that is shellac. When your days fill up with chores and outdoor fun, remember these three rules of shellac-maintenance.

If you’re going to be washing dishes, scrubbing floors or gardening, you should reach for a pair of gloves to protect your nails and your delicate skin. Wearing gloves is especially important if you’ll be using any harsh detergents or chemicals such as bleach, which can cause the shellac to lift or chip at the edge of your nails.

THIS SPACE IS THE BOM! by local blogger "christiemoments"

From truck depot to pet store to paint shop to trendy, hip, sleek salon …. to what?

Little was I to know that history would be made when I changed my hair appointment at Applebom Hair Salon from the early hours of 8:15am Saturday 21 June to 12 midday. We love Styling irons! They are an excellent way to achieve a shiny straight look, especially if you don’t want to go with a chemical straightener. And we mean, all the way! You don’t need 220-230 degrees, ladies.

And there’s a big difference between the two. Just like dry, oily, or combination skin, sensitive skin is something you’re born with. It doesn’t just happen.

Tips for the Perfect Wedding Hair and Makeup Trial

We recommend having your Wedding Hair and Makeup trial in the three months leading up to your wedding. By this time you have chosen your dress, your colour theme and styling for the day and will have a clear idea of the look you are wanting to achieve. This also allows plenty of time before the big day should you wish to schedule a second trial or you change your mind. It’s also important to bear in mind that Wedding Hair and Makeup stylists are booked well in advance, particularly in the peak seasons of Spring and Autumn, so it’s important to get in early and secure your trial with a booking.

Here’s our best tip: it’s a great idea to co-ordinate your trial with a special event. Perhaps you plan to have an engagement shoot with your photographer, or your final dress fitting is coming up.
